  Yesterday my dog suddenly fell EXTREMELY ILL. Vomiting (about 15 times) and defecating large amounts of blood. He was very lethargic and wasn't moving at all. Gums white. Being new to the area and to the province, I had called Spruce Grove Vet and explained the situation and how my dog needed to be seen as soon as possible. I was initially given the whole round about that 'staff is completely full today but come in as a walk in'. I agreed, and called back stating I needed more time to come in for my 'walk in' appointment because my boyfriend was on his way home from work to pick myself & the dog up to bring us in. About 45 minutes after (from my first call) as we were on our way to the clinic, Spruce Grove Vet called me to inform me that the 'walk in appointment' needed to be cancelled because it had been an 'hour' and the clinic was closing. Whomever I spoke to on the phone was completely unprofessional by telling me that they didn't have a vet that 'wanted to stay late'. Absolutely outrageous. Truly disgusted by a practice that is supposed to care about the well being of animals.
